Hi Matt! I'm looking for math tutoring for my student. Can we discuss lessons and availability?

If your messaging app doesn't open, copy the message and text it to (516) 578-9290.

The student and the class come first

Start with where the work gets difficult.

Use the actual classwork

We start with current notes, assignments, and review materials. The lesson follows what your student is studying and the work coming next.

Explain the missing step

I ask the student to show how they're approaching a problem. We work through the unclear parts and revisit earlier skills when they get in the way.

Give the student a turn

Watching an explanation is one part of learning. Your student works through problems and explains the steps, so we can see what makes sense and what needs more practice.

Choose how to meet.

Virtual, nationwide

Meet with me live and work through problems together on screen. Your student can ask questions and show their work as we go, without a trip before or after the lesson.

A reliable connection, a quiet place to work, and the current class materials help us use the time well.

In person on Long Island

Tell me about your student and the kind of help you're looking for. We can discuss in-person or virtual lessons and what fits the school week.

Find your student's course.

I work with students from different schools, including standard, honors, and AP classes. Select a course below to add it to your text, or use the name on your student's schedule.

A different course name is fine. Choose “Another course or name” above and send what you know. We'll confirm the level and fit together.

Before we talk

Who will I speak with?

You'll speak directly with me. Text or call, and we'll discuss your student's class, what would help, and how to get started.

Can we arrange weekly lessons?

Yes. We can discuss a regular time and use the lessons to keep up with classwork, revisit earlier topics, and prepare for tests. Scheduling depends on availability.

What if we only need help with one topic or test?

Tell me the topic and test date if you have them. I'll let you know my availability, and we can decide where to focus.

Do I need the exact course or teacher name?

No. You can text me directly with a short description. We can confirm the course from your student's schedule or current work.

How do we get started?

Send a text about what your student needs. I'll reply to discuss lessons and availability. If you'd rather call, leave a voicemail if I miss you so I can return your call.

Talk with me about the class.

A short message is enough to start.

If I miss your call, please leave a voicemail so I can call you back.
